Penn State football is 1-0 heading into their home opener against the Ohio Bobcats on Saturday afternoon. While most non-conference games against non-Power Five opponents don’t draw a tremendous recruiting crowd, this week is different. The BWI Daily Recruiting show is back to discuss the list of names in attendance for the game this weekend.

Penn State gets new RPM Pick

However, they start the show discussing changes coming to the Tuesday recruiting show, with Sean Fitz joining the Blue White Illustrated staff.

Penn State also has a new recruiting prediction pick from insider Ryan Snyder. The Nittany Lions are trending towards a commitment from Zion Tracy, a three-star cornerback from St. Thomas Moore academy in Connecticut. But will they get a commitment from him this weekend? Snyder and host Greg Pickel discuss the unique story behind Tracy and his journey to college football.

Next, they dive into the performance of players committed to Penn State in Week 2 of the high school football season. Pickel starts with quarterback commit Jaxon Smolik and his performance in a blowout win this past weekend. Snyder then recaps the other players performances from last Friday, including tight end Joey Schlaffer, King Mack and Mathias Barnwell, and Tony Rojas.

Recruiting list for Ohio

Finally, they discuss the recruiting list for this weekend, which includes some notable regional players in the classes of 2024 and 2025. Snyder runs down some names in those classes that he’s keeping an eye on this weekend. Some players include Michael Van Buren, a 2024 quarterback high on Penn State’s board, and Anthony Sacca, a 2025 linebacker from St. Joseph’s prep in Philadelphia.

Lastly, they close out the show with Pickel’s thoughts about Penn State’s win over Purdue on Thursday night after he took the weekend to digest the game in a second viewing and to review his thoughts.
