Penn State gets great news to start offseason

Host Thomas Frank Carr and senior editor Nate Bauer discuss the game and today’s breaking news. Starting left tackle Olu Fashanu announced that he’s returning for a fourth season at Penn State. The first-year starter became a household name this season for his excellent play and is turning down a potential first-round NFL Draft selection to return to Happy Valley. What sort of effect will this have on the team? T-Frank and Bauer will discuss and take your questions on the topic.

It’s more good news for Penn State along the offensive line, something the team has been working hard to achieve. Starting left guard Hunter Nourzad announced that he plans to return for his final year of eligibility earlier this season. The Penn State offensive line worked through heaps of injuries this season, with Fashanu missing the final four games of the regular season. Nourzad missed several games in the middle of the year and returned to play through injury. Meanwhile, starting right tackle Caedan Wallace missed five games to end the year, and starting left guard Landon Tengwall had season-ending surgery in October.

Penn State season review

Bauer and T-Frank will also discuss the game against Michigan State and how split Penn State fans are on this year’s 10-2 record. They’ll also take a broader look at the season now that it’s complete and describe what this season represents for the program. It was a hot finish to the season after a crushing loss to Ohio State on October 29th. In the final four games, the team outscored it’s opponents 165 to 40. They’ll also discuss which players stood out this year and who surprised them by playing better or more than they expected.

Additionally, there’s been lots of transfer portal activity this weekend around the country. So what should Penn State fans expect from the Nittany Lions, and how much can that change the team’s fate this offseason?

Lastly, they’ll touch on Penn State’s coaches and the potential for the team to have coaches poached this offseason for head coaching and coordinator positions elsewhere.
