The month of March is an important one for Penn State football. It is the start of spring practice, but it’s also a quiet period in recruiting. While “quiet period” sounds serene, it is anything but that. The BWI Live crew discusses the importance of having recruits on campus and the impact of spring football for the Nittany Lions.

As always, the BWI Live show is your chance to ask questions about any Penn State sports topic you wish. Join the show live at noon and ask your question. The experts from Blue White Illustrated will answer your questions live on air during the show.

2023 Penn State Prospect Update with Ryan Snyder

Before that, the panel brings in recruiting insider Ryan Snyder, who was at the Under Armour Next camp in Baltimore yesterday. He fills T-Frank in on the critical news of the event for Penn State’s top prospects in attendance. He starts with four-star linebacker Tony Rojas who recently visited Clemon after getting an offer from the Tigers. Does the Virginia native have a change of heart after the trip? Snyder and T-Frank discuss.

Simmons: Recruiting buzz from UA Next

Next, they dive into four-star athlete Neeo Avery‘s decommitment from Penn State. What happened with Avery and the Nittany Lions? Avery was at the UA Next event, even though he was not participating due to an injury and BWI spoke to him. Snyder recaps the conversation and where Penn State stands with the potential defensive end.

Finally, Snyder drops information on the recruits on campus this past weekend visiting Penn State. He also updates the crew on the players in town today and their significance to the Lion’s recruiting pictures.

Spring Practice and recruiting

After finishing up with Snyder, T-Frank discusses the process of recruiting in March with Bauer and Eckert. While the development of the players during practice is key, recruiting is never far from the picture. Bauer wrote an article last week about how critical these weeks with practice are to the big picture in recruiting for the Nittany Lions and how they use them as a springboard type of event.

After that, they’ll switch to basketball to get an update on the recruiting picture heading into the summer. So, where are the Nittany Lions with their Class of 2023? Basketball recruiting insider Dave Eckert gives an update on a recruit for the Nittany Lions.

Finally, they will discuss Penn State’s NIL collective and the way the school is viewing the new landscape of college recruiting.
