Penn State football has hosted an impressive number of recruiting visitors so far this spring, but this week, several big names joined the Nittany Lions on campus. The Blue White Illustrated recruiting show is back for a quick Friday update on what’s going on with the Nittany Lions. Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz discuss the visits from the week and who is coming up this weekend. Check out the full show on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts.

Things go well with Quinton Martin

Snyder has taken the lead on four-star running back Quinton Martin’s recruitment story and got updates about his time in Happy Valley earlier this week. That situation starts the show,

“I think the first place to start. Quinton Martin made it to campus this past weekend; has an official visit lined up now. We’ll see with other schools. I still think Pitt, Ohio State, maybe Florida State’s in there,” Snyder recaps.

“Penn State’s done a really nice job of positioning itself. Well, you said on the show on Monday that you think location is going to come into factor here. Ohio State and Pitt right there as well. I know he’s been talking about a Florida State trip, but, you know, you got to like, where Penn State stands right now.”

Penn State hosting Tyseer Denmark

Despite a talent-rich crop of players coming up on Thursday that the crew discusses, Penn State’s biggest name outside of Martin arrives on Saturday. High-four star receiver Tyseer Denmark is joining the Nittany Lions for a weekend.

“Tyseer Denmark the Oregon commit from Philadelphia, slot receiver, dynamic receiver, one of the top receivers on the board no matter who the receivers coach, is going to come up to meet Marques Hagans for the first time. That’s a big, big one. There’s some other guys high on the board that are coming this weekend,” Fitz says.

One final note, Penn State is doing very well in New Jersey, with a resurgence in commitment to the state in recruiting efforts.

“I’d be shocked if they don’t get at least one guy and 2024 from New Jersey, just the way they sit with a couple of guys. But certainly shaping up to be 2025 is the year for the New Jersey renaissance we’ll say,” Snyder says.

Penn State’s recruiting efforts this winter and spring netted two commitments last week, with three-star tight end prospect Luke Reynolds picking the Nittany Lions and 2025 cornerback Omari Gaines also selecting Penn State early in the process. Currently, Penn State is 19th in the On3 team rankings for the Class of 2024.
