Peter Gonzalez gives Penn State a good problem after standout camp

If you search Penn State’s 2024 class on the On3 team rankings board, you’ll notice that the wide receiver position is blank. With 17 players filling up the class so far, time and space are running out for a critical position in this cycle. The team needs to land impact players at wideout, and according to Blue White Illustrated recruiting insider, the team is focused on size as an element of this class. Enter Central Catholic wide receiver, Peter Gonzalez. The 6-2 wide receiver has been on Penn State’s radar for some time, but after a knee injury during his sophomore season, questions remained about what type of athlete he was. The big-bodied Pittsburgh native fits much of what Penn State is looking for this cycle, but he had to prove that he belonged athletically at Penn State’s prospect camp this past Sunday. After a standout day, Gonzalez aced that test. But, in doing so, he’s left Penn with a good problem to have. Despite having no commits, too many quality targets are left on the board.
