Penn State recruiting is reaching a fever pitch during June with multiple events weekly. The Nittany Lions hosted several official visits last weekend, a seven-on-seven tournament Wednesday, and have some potentially good news coming next weekend. Host of the BWI Daily Edition, Thomas Frank Carr, discusses all that and more on today’s show.

T-Frank starts with news this week about Lift For Life returning to Penn State after a forced hiatus thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Then, he gives the date and time of the event for fans interested in attending.

A Penn State commitment upcoming?

Next, he dips into news that came out Tuesday night from On3 recruiting insider Ryan Snyder. Three-star defensive tackle Tyriq Blanding announced that he’d be choosing his school on June 18th, which is Saturday. Snyder placed a pick for Penn State after the announcement. So, T-Frank reacts to that news on the show and gives his thoughts on the 6-1 defensive tackle.

Receiver focus shifts from size to speed

While that recruiting news deals with the immediate future of Penn State, the next topic on the show deals with the past, present, and future. Monday, T-Frank wrote an article about the evolution of the receiver prototype at the college and NFL levels. He gives an overview of that article on the show and explains in detail what is fueling the revolution.

It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for another batch of Penn State football takes. Each week, Blue-White Illustrated picks a few topics that are currently meaningful in Lions land and offers an opinion on where things stand.

This week, we tackle a decommitment, whether Penn State is trending the wrong way with a top target, and more.

Is the Josh Miller decommitment the worst recruiting sting Penn State will have in this cycle?

Penn State lost a key member of its Class of 2023 on Monday when Virginia lineman Joshua Miller flipped to Georgia. The Bulldogs hosted him for a camp earlier this month. Then, they quickly closed the deal after showing him campus while his skills confirmed their decision to offer him.

Miller was not the highest-rated prospect in the class. In fact, he’s a three-star across the recruiting industry. But, the caliber of programs that were after him suggests he could be a four-star when all is said and done.
