Watch: Penn State head coach James Franklin discusses bye week progress
The Penn State Nittany Lions football team is on a bye week but is still hard at it. The team practiced on Tuesday afternoon, and head coach James Franklin met with the media afterward to give an update. He spoke with reporters for roughly ten minutes, and you can hear his full comments on here. As always, you can hear all of Franklin’s press conferences on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel or embedded on the site. Got some extra time during the bye? Franklin asked about Penn State players who were absent from last game
The news around the team following Penn State’s 34-12 win over Bowling Green was mostly about who didn’t finish the game. Tight end Andrew Rappleyea was seen on crutches during the game on the sidelines. Franklin was asked about the second-year player on Tuesday. While Franklin’s comments were brief, they were important.
“Yeah, that’ll be a long-term injury,” Franklin said when asked about Rappleyea’s status. The redshirt freshman tight end was a central figure in the team’s plans on offense this fall.
