2025 Indiana ILB Kimar Nelson commits to Purdue
Purdue has added an 11th pledge to its 2025 recruiting class with a commitment from three-star Wayne High (Fort Wayne, Ind.) ILB Kimar Nelson on Monday night.
“I really like the campus environment, the coaches, and their engineering program. Them being so close to home made the decision a lot easier,” Nelson told On3.
The 6-2, 220-pound Nelson, who visited Purdue for the Northwestern and Notre Dame games, joins Grant Beerman and Sam Steward as ILB commits in the 2025 class.

Nelson had 94 tackles and led the state with 16 sacks in 2024.
“After a great conversation with Joe Dineen I am blessed to receive an offer and announce my commitment to the University of Purdue I am excited about the opportunity that lies ahead,” Nelson wrote on X announcing his decision. “I am eager to get to work, develop my skills, and grow both as an athlete and as an individual.”
Nelson’s commitment comes after Purdue had endured four de-commitments in recent weeks: DT Drayden Pavey, WR Lebron Hill, OL Takhyian Whitset and CB Dawayne Galloway.
