2026 three-star WR Jojo Johnson flips to Purdue
Purdue has netted another late addition to its 2026 recruiting class this weekend, landing a commitment from 2026 three-star Benedictine (Va.) wide receiver Jojo Johnson on Sunday. Johnson, a former Coastal Carolina commit, flipped his pledge to the Boilermakers on the heels of a visit to campus.
Johnson was the focus of several schools late in the recruiting cycle, with National Signing Day just days away. The Virginia pass catcher was pursued by Michigan State, North Carolina State and Wake Forest, in addition to the Boilermakers.
It was Barry Odom and company who won out over that group to land the late flip of Johnson.
Johnson has length, at 6 feet, 4 inches, and the vertical speed to be a downfield threat in Purdue’s offensive scheme. Purdue has looked for bigger pass catchers out of the high school ranks, with Jalil Hall and Brandon Kinsey also fitting that mold.

The ex-Coastal Carolina commit now gives Purdue a pair of wide receivers in the 2026 recruiting class and replaces Kymistrii Young in the group, who flipped his commitment from Purdue to North Carolina earlier this week.
The Boilermakers now have 21 commitments in the class, as Johnson joins JUCO defensive back Dax Noles in committing to Purdue this weekend, with three days until National Signing Day on Wednesday.
