More: What is Purdue getting in Brandon Kinsey
Scouting Report: What is Purdue getting in Kinsey?
Kinsey’s tape pops off the screen. It is explosive play after explosive play for the south Florida wide receiver. It doesn’t matter the scenario, either. Punt return, bubble screen, a deep ball. Brandon Kinsey just has a knack for making big plays whenever the ball touches his hands.
At 6-foot and 177 pounds, Kinsey has top end speed to break away from defenders and routinely bounces off would-be tacklers with what looks like ease. He is the type of receiver that can catch the ball anywhere on the field and provide an offense with a big play.
Those attributes translated into on-field results last season, as Kinsey tallied 45 catches for 922 yards (a 20.5 yard per catch average) and 11 touchdowns as a junior. He also had 54 tackles as a defensive back. Purdue got its hands on an intriguing talent at the wide receiver position, which is something the offense will be dependent upon in the years to come.https://www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/17807080/66f6dbddaf767f4b0b9e4fee

Kinsey paired with Kymistrii Young, more receivers on the way?
Purdue now has two wide receivers in the 2026 class, with Kinsey joining fellow Floridian pass catcher and three-star talent Kymistrii Young, who committed to the Boilermakers earlier in June. That tandem also joins athletic tight ends ArMari Towns and Dream Rashad to form an intriguing quartet for offensive coordinator Josh Henson.
Now, there is some uncertainty regarding what the position looks like in the class moving forward. Considering Purdue had just one receiver in the 2025 haul and many of the young pass catchers on the roster from last season departed, there could be room for more additions between now and National Signing Day in December. While that could very well be the case, no targets are high on the board for the Boilermakers at this time.
It seems unlikely, at this point, that BJ Bedgood would still be an option to join the class. Other offered receivers like Jayden Petit, Devyon Hill-Lomax and Jeffar Jean-Noel ventured to other programs. There is a scenario in which Purdue sticks with just two receivers in the class, but there is a lot of time to add another or two if they so desire.
