Purdue in the Pros: Week 10

While Purdue looks to bounce back in West Lafayette, several former Boilermakers will look to make an impact on Sundays this fall. Some play prominent roles, while others struggled their way through training camp. Today, GoldandBlack.com looks at how former Purdue players fared in Week 10 of the NFL Season.

DERRICK BARNES – DETROIT LIONS
Barnes took the field for all 54 defensive snaps in Detroit’s 44-22 win at Washington, recording a tackle. The Lions will appear in primetime, heading to Philadelphia for Sunday Night Football this week.
PAYNE DURHAM – TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
The third-year tight end lined up for 19 snaps in Tampa Bay’s 28-23 loss to New England, and he was targeted once in the passing game. Durham also added 13 snaps of special teams duty. The 6-3 Buccaneers will travel to Buffalo for a Sunday kickoff at 1 p.m. EST.
CHARLIE JONES – CINCINNATI BENGALS
Cincinnati spent Week 10 on its bye. The Bengals hold a 3-6 record heading into the remainder of their season. Jones has returned 27 kicks, averaging 26.5 yards per return, and he scored a touchdown on a 98-yard return against Chicago in Week 9. He’s also returned eight punts for a total of 90 yards. The Bengals will head to Pittsburgh for a 1 p.m. EST divisional showdown this week.
SANOUSSI KANE – BALTIMORE RAVENS
The Ravens cut Kane from the roster on Monday, Nov. 4, after back-to-back games of listing him as a healthy scratch. He cleared waivers and was added to Baltimore’s practice squad.
GEORGE KARLAFTIS – KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Kansas City spent Week 10 on its bye week. The 5-4 Chiefs will look to finish strong and reach the Super Bowl once again. Karlaftis has recorded 32 tackles, including five sacks, recovered a fumble and deflected two passes through nine games. The Chiefs will travel to Denver for a divisional game at 4:25 p.m. EST.
MARCUS MBOW – NEW YORK GIANTS
The rookie was active, but he did not play any snaps in New York’s 24-20 loss at Chicago on Sunday. He’s played in five of the 2-8 Giants’ 10 games, and they’ll host Green Bay for a 1 p.m. EST game this weekend.

RAHEEM MOSTERT – LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Mostert played eight snaps at running back in the Raiders’ 10-7 Thursday night loss to the Broncos. He recorded an 11-yard reception and ran once for four yards. It’s primetime this week for Las Vegas, as it hosts Dallas for Monday Night Football.
AIDAN O’CONNELL – LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
O’Connell returned to practice last week after a hand fracture in the preseason caused him to miss the first two months of the season. He is eligible for activation, and with Raiders QB Geno Smith suffering an injury last week, Las Vegas’ quarterback plan will be a major question mark heading into a Monday Night Football meeting with Dallas.
TYRONE TRACY JR. – NEW YORK GIANTS
Tracy appeared at running back for 49 of the 73 offensive snaps in the Giants’ 24-20 loss at the Bears. He carried 14 times for 71 yards and caught one pass in the defeat. The 2-8 Giants will host the Packers at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday.
CORY TRICE JR. – PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Trice began the season on the “reserve/injured/designated for return” list. He began his 21-day practice window to return to play on Oct. 29, but he did not play this past week. Pittsburgh must decide on his future by Nov. 19. The Steelers will host the Bengals on Sunday at 1 p.m. EST.
Practice squad: Jalen Graham (San Francisco), Sanoussi Kane (Baltimore), Reese Taylor (Denver)
Injured and out for season: Gus Hartwig (New York Jets), Rondale Moore (Minnesota)
