Purdue wideout Charlie Jones has the interest of NFL teams, as he’s in the midst of making visits to team sites.

A source close to Jones tells GoldandBlack.com he has visited the Texans and will meet with the Steelers today. In April, Jones will visit the Cardinals and Panthers.

The NFL Draft is April 27-29 in Kansas City. Most projections have Jones being selected on Friday or Saturday during Rounds 2-7.

Jones made a big impact in his one season at Purdue, leading the Big Ten in catches (110) and receiving yards (1,361) while making 12 TD catches last season following his transfer from Iowa. Jones helped lead the Boilermakers to the Big Ten West title and earn a bid to the Citrus Bowl.

Jones also was Big Ten Return Man of the Year in 2021 for the Hawkeyes, for whom he walked on in 2020 after beginning his career at Buffalo in 2018. Jones was Big Ten consensus honorable mention special teams as a return man in 2022 for Purdue, averaging 6.3 yards on 18 punt returns.

Jones was one of five Boilermakers who worked out at the NFL Combine, joining QB Aidan O’Connell, TE Payne Durham, LB Jalen Graham and CB Cory Trice.
