SMU climbs in ACC Power Rankings after dominant win over Pitt in Week 10
The SMU Mustangs are now the No. 2 team in the ACC Power Rrankings after a dominant win over Pitt Saturday night for its Homecoming game. Miami remains the top-ranked team, according to the On3 Massey Ratings.
SMU improved to 8-1 on the season and are now No. 13 in the country. The new ACC members are in the driver’s seat to make the ACC Championship Game. With the win over previously No. 20 Pitt, it was the first time SMU won a ranked vs. ranked HOME game since 1949.

In the 48-25 win over Pitt, quarterback Kevin Jennings threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns. He’s now had at least 250 passing yards in every ACC game this season. Running back Brashard Smith continued his strong play, running for 161 yards and two touchdowns while adding a touchdown reception.
Thirteenth-ranked SMU is set to enjoy its final bye week of the regular season before a matchup with Boston College on November 16 at Ford Stadium. The first College Football Playoff rankings will be revealed Tuesday night on ESPN.
The On3 Massey Ratings – which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated high school sports team rankings since 1995 – rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
