Final availability report before South Carolina and Vanderbilt kickoff from Nashville
South Carolina is set to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday in Nashville. But the Gamecocks will be down a few players for this matchup.
The team will be without key defensive tackles Nick Barrett and DeAndre Jules as they have both been ruled out. Walk-on defensive back Buddy Mack is also out.
Head coach Shane Beamer already revealed earlier this week that freshman wide receiver Mazeo Bennett will play this week and confirmed it again on Thursday.
“Mazeo is good to go,” Beamer said Thursday.
Since Wednesday, it’s been known that running back Matthew Fuller, linebacker Mo Kaba, and offensive lineman Jakai Moore would all be out for this game.
Vanderbilt is also without some of its players for Saturday. Defensive lineman Christian James is the only played listed as a game-time decision. Other than that, the ‘Dores will be down five players who are listed as out.

That list from the SEC Availability Report includes defensive lineman Zaylin Wood, defensive back Mark Davis, EDGE Boubacar Diakite, offensive lineman Grayson Morgan, and defensive lineman Bradley Mann.
The SEC recently approved a player availability injury report system for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.
SEC school personnel must submit availability reports three days before each football game, with daily updates leading to a final report 90 minutes before game time. For basketball and baseball, reports are filed the night before, with an update on game day.
When schools submit injury reports, players will be designated as available, probable, doubtful, and questionable before game day. On game day, designations will be available, game-time decision or out. The model follows injury reports similar to the NFL.
The Gamecocks and Commodores are set for a 4:15 p.m. ET kickoff in Nashville on Saturday with SEC Network carrying the action.
