The Gamecocks are not done adding pieces out of the portal.

South Carolina picked up a infielder commitment from infielder Gavin Casas, who started his career at Vanderbilt.

The former top 300 prospect out of high school played 22 games this year before an injury ended his season.

In almost 70 plate appearances he hit .294/.381/.412 with a home run and 14 RBI.

At South Carolina he will factor into the infield and have a chance to hit in the middle of the order.

He’s the eighth pickup for the Gamecocks out of the portal. South Carolina’s also added Memphis infielder Jacob Compton, Oral Roberts’s Caleb Denny, California’s Nick Proctor and Presbyterian’s Chris Veach.

Dylan Brewer, Jonathan French and Ricky Williams will come in from Clemson.
