With national signing day approaching, South Carolina had one of its two commitments crack the latest On3 top 150.

Forward Collin Murray-Boyles checks in at No. 117, a three-star prospect originally from Columbia.

He’s considered the No. 24 small forward in the class. Murray-Boyles checks in at No. 193 in the On3 consensus rankings.

Murray-Boyles started his career at AC Flora but will play his senior season at Watsach Academy in Utah.

The 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward was the first commitment in the 2023 class, committing over the summer as South Carolina’s second high school commitment of the Lamont Paris era.

“USC, they were just consistent. They hit me up and kept a consistent connection with me. They were just there supporting me. All my games, I would see at least one coach from USC at my games,” he said after committing.

“Knowing they’re making me a priority. Plus they play in one of the best leagues. That’s even better. To have a team that cares about you and wanting you to play the best competition and be the best player I can be.”

South Carolina also has a commitment from in-state wing Arden Conyers, who committed just a day after Murray-Boyles made his official.

Conyers is not yet rated in On3’s database. He plays locally at Westwood High School in Columbia, South Carolina.

“South Carolina got in the mix and it got hard. When they started offering me, contacting me and getting me on the campus it was hard,” Conyers told GamecockCentral about his decision. “It was hard to turn that down. I talked a lot and it was stressful. I talked with my parents, but I had to follow my heart and choose South Carolina.”

The Gamecocks might not expand their 2023 class with high school players after inking Murray-Boyles and Conyers, although they will be active in the transfer portal.

South Carolina begins its season in earnest Tuesday night against South Carolina State. That game will tip off at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network.

The Gamecocks already had their exhibition, clubbing Mars Hill by 39 points for, albeit unofficial, the first win under Paris.
