The time is ticking until priority South Carolina football target Jalon Kilgore will announce his decision.

The Eatonton (Ga.) Putnam County class of 2023 four-star defensive back will announce his college choice at 6 p.m. Wednesday during a ceremony at New Life Outreach Christian Center.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect will also stream the announcement live on his Instagram (@jalon.kilgore11) as he chooses among finalists South Carolina, Clemson, Oklahoma, Michigan and Tennessee Tech.

He also holds Power 5 offers from Florida, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Kentucky and Georgia Tech.

Kilgore is fresh off an official visit to South Carolina, where he is being recruited by defensive backs coach Torrian Gray.

The Gamecocks were the first Power 5 program to offer Kilgore, who was also in town for South Carolina’s spring game, his third visit to Columbia with the official visit being at least the fourth.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – ranks Kilgore as the No. 31 safety, No. 372 overall prospect and No. 32 state of Georgia prospect in the 2023 class.

South Carolina football is the current leader for Kilgore’s services according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), giving the Gamecocks a 92.1 percent chance of landing him.

The On3 RPM has odds for each recruit’s commitment. It factors in machine learning, expert predictions, social sentiment, visits, and historical trends, with expert predictions a significant part of the equation.

South Carolina is currently riding a huge wave of recruiting momentum.

Kilgore was one of 13 official visitors on campus over the weekend. Three have already gone public with a commitment with a fourth prospect not yet revealed. Beamer indicated on Twitter Wednesday that the Gamecocks had added a fifth commitment for the week and that prospect has also not yet revealed his decision.

Fort Myers (Fla.) Lehigh four-star ATH Kelton Henderson, Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School three-star tight end Connor Cox and Perry (Fla.) Taylor County three-star DB Cameron Upshaw pledged to South Carolina on Sunday.

Those three join Atlanta (Ga) Pace Academy On3 four-star OL Trovon Baugh and Laurel (Md.) St. John’s three-star DB Zahbari Sandy on the South Carolina 2023 commit list.

On Wednesday afternoon, Sandy and Upshaw were Tweeting at Kilgore, encouraging him to hurry up and reveal his choice.

They’ll soon find out if he’ll be joining them in Columbia.
