One day after watching Findlay (Oh.) quarterback Ryan Montgomery throw in person on Wednesday, South Carolina offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains has officially offered the class of 2025 four-star prospect.

Montgomery has been firmly on South Carolina’s radar since Loggains arrived in Columbia and it seemed like it was only a matter for time before he ultimately landed an offer.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound signal-caller visited South Carolina in April and said that getting to know Loggains was a highlight of that visit to Columbia.

“It was great to spend the day with Coach Loggains,” Montgomery told GamecockCentral at the time. “His NFL background is super interesting. He has a lot of energy just like Coach (Shane) Beamer. The highlight for me was sitting in on the QB meeting and learning about their offense.”

While Loggains and Montgomery didn’t get into specifics about the offense on the trip, Loggains did make it clear that he thought it was a scheme Montgomery could excel in.

“They would love for me to continue to build on what they have started,” Montgomery said. “The offense is built for the QB and the QB can control as much as they can handle which is super cool in my opinion.”

The highly rated Blue Chip quarterback also enjoyed further getting to know the Gamecocks’ head coach.

“(Beamer) is great. His energy is awesome,” Montgomery said. “I have no doubt we will be successful at South Carolina. They really had a great year last season and are looking to be even better. It seems like they are recruiting at a very high level as well.”

Montgomery told On3’s Chad Simmons in March that he wants to start cutting down his list of schools in June.

Montgomery is the No. 209 overall prospect and No. 14 quarterback in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in Ohio.

Montgomery is one of two 2025 quarterbacks to land an offer from South Carolina on Thursday as Lucedale (Miss.) Georgia County four-star Deuce Knight and Columbia (S.C.) Richland Northeast QB Will Wilson also picked up offers from Loggains.
