The South Carolina Gamecocks officially have another four-star on their 2023 commit list.

Ephraim (Utah) Snow College JUCO offensive tackle Isaiah Jatta, who was not yet rated by On3 when he committed to South Carolina in June, has been deemed a four-star prospect by the network with a rating of 90.

Jatta remains a three-star prospect in the On3Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, as he is a three-star on both 247Sports and Rivals.

That three-star designation with an 86.00 rating is the one that is factored into South Carolina’s team recruiting ranking but the fact that On3 has him as four-star speaks to the ability of the 6-foot-6, 315-pounder.

“It’s just knowing that South Carolina is on the incline,” Jatta said of his reasons for picking the Gamecocks. “When I was up there, you could see a whole different mentality from the visits I’ve been to. You could see how everyone in the building was on the same page and that’s what stuck out the most to me. Coach and consistency-wise, the coaches seem to be there for a pretty decent time, throughout my college career. And just knowing Coach Teasley since 2019, it was just wonderful (catching back up) with him, so it was a no-brainer for me.”

The Gamecocks, led by offensive line coach Greg Adkins and his staff of Lonnie Teasley and Sam Serbay, are currently in the process of landing one of the best offensive line classes in school history.

In addition to Jatta, South Carolina has two four-star prospects committed in Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman IOL Markee Anderson and Atlanta (Ga.) Pace IOL Trovon Baugh and a high-upside three-star in Villa Rica (Ga.) OT Jatavius Shivers.

The Gamecocks could add Hyattsville (Md.) Dematha Catholic four-star OT Oluwatosin Babalade soon as he is set to possibly decide this week and South Carolina is considered the favorite.

South Carolina also hosted Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna OT Elijah Phillipe on an official visit last week.

The Gamecocks currently have 16 commitments in their 2023 class, which is ranked No. 22 in the country in the 2023 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
