Former South Carolina women's basketball star earns WNBA Conference Player of the Month honor again

Former South Carolina women’s basketball star Allisha Gray is having the best year of her professional career. Thanks to career-high numbers in points, rebounds, assists, shooting percentage, and 3-point percentage, Gray is one of three former Gamecocks (along with A’ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston) vying for the 2025 WNBA MVP award.
This week, she added another honor to her mantle, as she earned the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month trophy for the second time this season. With the win, she became the first Atlanta Dream player ever to win the honor multiple times in the same year. She is also the first Eastern Conference player to go back-to-back since Sabrina Ionescu in 2024.
Gray earned her recognition on the back of 18.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game in June. She also shot 45.1% from the field and 41.5% from the 3-point arc. Her efforts are a big reason why the Dream are one of the most improved groups in the W. Atlanta currently owns the No. 4 seed in the league standings.
