On Wednesday, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced the watch list for the Naismith Girls’ High School Player of the Year. A pair of South Carolina women’s basketball commitments made the cut. Post player Kelsi Andrews and forward Kaeli Wynn were two of 50 total players on the watch list.

Current Gamecock Raven Johnson and USC legend A’ja Wilson won the award in 2014 and 2021, respectively.

Andrews, a 6-4 post player who can play either power forward or center, is rehabbing a knee injury. However, before the injury, she was one of the top interior presences in the country. She can score around the basket and rebounds everything near her. Andrews’ length makes her a shot-blocking threat, too.

The Rivals Industry Ranking considers Andrews to be the No. 20 overall player in the class of 2026. She’s also No. 4 among power forwards nationally and No. 2, regardless of position, in Florida. She is a five-star recruit according to ESPN HoopGurlz.

Wynn is a California-based forward who is the first high school prospect from the Golden State to pick South Carolina. She plays all over the frontcourt at the high school level but has some guard skills, as well.

The Rivals Industry Ranking slots Wynn in as the No. 18 overall player in the 2026 cycle. She’s No. 1 nationally among small forwards. Wynn is also No. 3, regardless of position, from the state of California. Like Andrews, she is an ESPN HoopGurlz five-star prospect.

Several players on the Naismith watch list are South Carolina women’s basketball targets, as well.

In the class of 2026, the Gamecocks are heavily after Jerzy Robinson. For the 2027 cycle, Eve Long, Jordyn Palmer, and Nation Williams are among the USC targets.
