Te-Hina Paopao was selected by the Atlanta Dream with the 18th pick in the WNBA Draft on Monday night.

Paopao joins former Gamecock Allisha Gay in Atlanta. Both players won a championship with the Gamecocks.

Paopao is the 20th Gamecock in program history selected in the WNBA Draft. She is the 16th player of the Dawn Staley era to be selected.

Paopao was invited to attend the WNBA Draft in New York but opted to watch with her family in Oceanside, California. On the draft broadcast, it was reported that 300 friends and family members attended the party.

Dawn Staley and assistant coaches Lisa Boyer, Jolette Law, and Khadijah Sessions attended the draft and represented Paopao.

For her career, Paopao averaged 11.4 points and shot 40% from three. In 2023-24, she led the nation in three-point shooting at 46.8%.

Bree Hall and Sania Feagin were selected back-to-back, 20th by Indana and 21st by Los Angeles. That meant all three draft-eligible Gamecocks were selected.
