Video: South Carolina baseball honor seniors

Prior to Saturday’s Game 1 of two against Tennessee, seven South Carolina baseball players were honored part of Senior Day.

Those seniors were Noah Hall, James Hicks, Will McGillis, Nick Proctor, Wesley Sweatt, Brett Thomas and Braylen Wimmer. In addition, USC also will recognized team managers Bryson Mitchell and Noah Wise as well as bullpen catcher Mickey Paragano.

More information on Saturday’s games against Tennessee

South Carolina will host a doubleheader on Saturday to close out the regular season. Both games will be seven innings long starting at 2 p.m. Game 2 will start approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1. Both games will be televised on SEC Network.

Tennessee defeated South Carolina on Friday 5-0 in the first of three games that are scheduled to be played this weekend at Founders Park.

No.13 South Carolina heads into Friday (37-15, 15-11 SEC) while No. 18 Tennessee is (36-17, 14-13 SEC).

A massive series for South Carolina and its hosting chances wraps up Saturday afternoon at Founders Park.

The Gamecocks continue their three-game series with Tennessee as part of a doubleheader Saturday starting at 2 p.m. After losing 5-0 Friday night, the Gamecocks need to sweep both seven-inning games to win the series.

SCOUTING TENNESSEE
The Volunteers are coming off a 9-5 win over Belmont in eight innings on Tuesday. Maui Ahuna had three hits for Tennessee in the win. Ahuna is hitting .320 with 16 doubles while Zane Denton has a team-best 48 RBI. On the mound, Chase Dollander has 94 strikeouts in 68.1 innings pitched. He joins Drew Beam with six victories.
