Tennessee found a way on Saturday night against a scrappy bunch from Kentucky. After the game, select Tennessee players met the media to discuss the win.

Dylan Sampson has set a new Tennessee Football modern single-season rushing touchdown record with 18 this season, passing the previous record of 17 held by Reggie Cobb during the 1987 season. Sampson set the record with a 7-yard, go-ahead touchdown run against Kentucky in the third quarter Saturday night at Neyland Stadium.

Samson has now matched the all-time single-season rushing touchdown record for the Vols, matching Gene McEver’s 18 touchdowns in 1929.

Tennessee’s defense came up big in the second half by forcing multiple turnovers.

Miles Kitselman caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Nico Iamaleava, converting another turnover forced by the Tennessee defense. This time it was a Will Brooks interruption returned to the Kentucky 10-yard line.

Peyton Lewis scored the first touchdown of the night and the first of his career. Lewis came in for DeSean Bishop, who was injured in the first half.
