Tennessee Basketball’s home game against Kentucky on January 28 and Alabama on March 1 at Food City Center are officially sold out, the Vols announced on Thursday.

The 12th-ranked Vols (1-0) opened the season with an 80-64 win over Gardner-Webb at home on Monday. They go to Louisville (1-0) on Saturday (Noon Eastern Time, ACC Network) for the first road game of the season.

Tennessee announced in August that all 14,500 season tickets had been sold for a second straight season. It’s the sixth straight full-capacity season that the Vols have sold 13,000 or more season tickets.

Vols set program record with eight home sellouts last season

The Vols announced season tickets were sold out last year on November 1. They went on to set a single-season program record with eight home sellouts, including the final four games at Food City Center. There were five sellouts during the 2022-23 season, tying the previous program record.

Tennessee last season played in front of capacity crowds of 21,678 against Illinois, Alabama, LSU and Vanderbilt. Four games were above capacity: Auburn (22,547), Texas A&M (22,322), Kentucky (22,206) and Ole Miss (21,932).

Entering last season, the Vols had finished in the top five in national attendance in the previous four non-COVID-impacted seasons. They’ve been top 20 in attendance for 19 straight years.

Tennessee men’s and women’s basketball also had the highest combined attendance of any basketball programs during the 2022-23 season, totaling 451,142 fans.

The Vols have played 36 home games in front of crowds of 20,000 or more during the Rick Barnes era.
