Trail Tidbits: Recruiting season rolls on for Tennessee

Tennessee will host more visitors this weekend as they are set for a non-conference matchup against New Mexico State. A headliner for the weekend will be 2026 defensive target Jordan Carter. The four-star prospect will be in town on an official visit. Volquest breaks down that and more in this installment of Trail Tidbits.
Jordan Carter set for Tennessee OV
Carter recently re-opened his recruitment, and the Vols are in the thick of things. He visited for the Oklahoma game, and Tennessee will look to gain more momentum with his official visit this weekend.
“What really wanted to make me get back up there was all of the things I have heard about their defensive line,” Carter said of what made him want to return to Tennessee. “I have heard a lot about what Coach Garner has been doing with the defensive line, and how they work the young guys in with the old guys, and I just wanted to see it for myself with my own eyes. I just wanted to come back on campus and get the feeling of campus since it has been a minute.”

This trip will be important for Carter to continue to learn more about Tennessee
“It is really about me seeing the environment more,” Carter said of what he will look for during the visit. “I am the one who is going to be waking up in the morning to go work out. I especially want my family to be comfortable in the environment I am in because if the environment doesn’t suit me and my family, then I can’t go there. If I think it does, then I will be all in.”
Volquest also highlighted remaining names to know in the 2026 class and more in this full episode.
