Pike Road, Alabama offensive lineman Vyson Lang has been in constant contact with the Tennessee staff over the last several months. This weekend he was in Knoxville for his official visit and left town all smiles.

Volquest caught up with the 3-star offensive lineman to get a feel with where he is in the process.

Lang told On3 national director of recruiting Chad Simmons earlier this week that the stage was set and it certainly sounds like the Vols knocked it out off the park.

“They have a huge opportunity, cause like I said, this is the first OV I’m going to, that I’ve ever taken, so they can put the standard super high or super low,” Lang told On3. “But I’m confident that Tennessee, they’ll do (what) they have to to wow me and my family and show us a good time.”

Tennessee’s biggest competition is Auburn. Lang has taken six visits to Auburn, including for the Tigers’ 41-12 loss to Penn State two weeks ago. The Tigers have hit a rough patch and several questions about the direction and future of the program are points of chatter on the Plains.

“You can’t really block it out cause you gotta know what you’re going into, like the full piece of the puzzle,” Lang told On3. “I hear everything that people say and websites, (I) read about coach Harsin and the stability of the football team, organization. So I take that into huge consideration because I don’t want to go to Auburn and then first two weeks I’m there, everybody leaves. And then, it’s basically like, I got to guess, who’s gonna be my new head coach? Who’s gonna be my new o-line coach? And basically, it’s just like I’m stuck there.”
