Less than two weeks after announcing a top eight, 2023 Converse (Tex.) Judson four-star wide receiver Anthony Evans has cut his list in half and is down to four schools: Georgia, Penn State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. In addition, the four-star is planning to announce his commitment on August 26th.

Evans made official visits to three of his top four schools last month and his visit to Texas A&M in particular stood out.

“Really, they couldn’t have done better,” he previously told Aggie Scoop. “I felt like a priority when I went there. Sitting in that dinner, Jimbo [Fisher] was sitting with me on Saturday and that’s definitely something to take into consideration. He can’t with all the other twelve kids that were there, so I felt like a priority when I went there. Coach Craig made sure of that, and like I said, Jimbo did as well.”

Evans added that in addition to the efforts of Jimbo Fisher and wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig, co-offensive coordinator James Coley had an impact on him, noting that “he was really on it.”

Evans was joined by his family on the visit and one of the highlights of their visit was a two-hour meeting with Craig.

“That’s my guy right there,” he said. “We were in the meeting for like two hours, it was me, him and my family sitting there for about two hours chopping it up. He’s just like my dad, and that’s huge for me, like my dad is my only trainer, he’s trained me my whole life….It’s crazy, they act just alike, talk just alike, they have the same mentality. So, it’s like, if I go here I’m going to be playing for my dad all over again.”

Craig and the staff has pitched Evans on playing all over the offense. With a 21.1 200m time and multiple sub-11 100-meter dash times to his name, the four-star out of Judson has the speed the Aggies covet at the position, and has drawn some comparisons to freshman wide receiver Evan Stewart.

He also took official visits to both Oklahoma and Georgia, and both schools have made the speedster a priority. Penn State was the lone school in his top four he has yet to visit, but that could change before he makes his decision.

As it stands, he doesn’t have any visits set up in the foreseeable future, but did note that he could look to return to Texas A&M at the end of July for the Aggies’ pool party event the weekend of July 29th.

Evans ranks as the No. 397 prospect and No. 53 wide receiver in the country per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The speedy junior has an On3 NIL Valuation of 6.4K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
