New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning, the No. 1 player in the On3 2023 Top 100, is taking in the sights and sounds of Austin this weekend for the Texas Longhorns’ matchup with the Oklahoma State Cowboys at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium.

Manning, the son of Cooper, nephew of Eli and Peyton, and grandson of Archie, was part of Texas’ pregame festivities for recruits on Campbell-Williams Field as captured by Inside Texas’ Will Gallagher.

Inside Texas/On3 was in Hammond, La. on Thursday night to watch Isidore Newman take on St. Charles Catholic ahead of Manning’s visit. So were Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee.

“That was cool,” Manning said Thursday. “I keep up with Coach Sark and A.J. (Milwee) a lot. They are really good guys, and it was pretty cool to have them here tonight. It was a tough game. I didn’t play well at all, but it was still cool.”

Arch Manning’s recruitment is high-profile

The latest Manning has plenty of offers from across the nation, writes On3’s senior recruiting editor Jeremy Crabtree. Manning has never talked about favorites, but the schools talked about the most this fall have been Alabama,  ClemsonGeorgiaOle Miss and Texas. Manning previously said he could visit local Tulane and remains in contact with LSU and Stanford as well.

The battle for Manning’s commitment is shaping up to be one of the biggest in recent memory.

Manning will be on campus at Ole Miss on October 23 when Eli Manning has his Rebels jersey retired, per On3 senior national recruiting analyst Gerry Hamilton. He also has a trip scheduled to Clemson on October 30 when the Tigers take on Florida State.

Manning is part of a massive recruiting weekend in Austin. The Longhorns are expected to host five-star wide receiver Evan Stewart, five-star Alabama tight end commit Jaleel Skinner, and many other top 2022 and 2023 targets.
