Texas' bowl practice schedule sets up perfectly for big visit weekend
With National Signing Day moved back a week, myriad Texas recruiting targets and commitments will be able to see the team in full swing when they visit Austin this weekend. That activity should help replace the hustle and bustle lost to the end of the semester.

Texas returned to the field for practices on Friday and continued throughout the weekend. This week they’ll resume all team activities (meals, lifting, running, etc) except practice, until they again take the field Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
In a healthy program your best recruiters are current players, many of which have pre-existing relationships with recruits in the classes behind them. Practices are a much more intimate, though less intense setting than visits that occur on game weekends. Of course after practice there is plenty of time to fraternize.
Further, the weekend practices allow for the coaches to hit the road during the week to see recruits one last time before the dead period begins on December 19th, just two days before National Signing Day.
Needless to say, this is a big week for recruiting.
