Prospects across the state of Texas continued to put up big numbers in the second week of the regular season. 

Friday night featured another huge performance by five-star receiver Evan Stewart. Top 30 prospect and SMU verbal Jordan Hudson was dominant once again for Garland Thursday night.

Thursday night action

On300 No. 29 and SMU verbal Jordan Hudson caught five passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns in Garland’s 55-3 win over Richardson High. Senior running back Jayshon Powers rushed for 56 yards and a TD on seven carries. 

Aledo beat Frisco Lone Star 45-35 with a key injury to report. On300 QB and Oklahoma State Garret Rangel hit on 14 of 28 passes for 238 yards and two TD’s. He appeared to suffer a late game knee injury that took him out of the game. His status at this time is not known. Oklahoma tight end verbal Jason Llewellyn posted six receptions for 89 yards and a TD. Nevada signal caller commit Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi passed for 244 yards on three scores on 13 of 19. Senior running back Ashton Jeanty rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on 16 totes. Northwestern safety commit Devin Turner caught six passes for 93 yards and a score. 

Southlake Carroll beat Rockwall-Heath 36-35. SLC junior quarterbac Keaton Anderson hit on 16 of 28 passes for 354 yards and two TDs. South Carolina commit Landon Samson hauled in eight passes for 153 yards and two scores. Junior running back Owen Allen rushed for 117 yards, caught a pair of passes for 112 yards and scored twice. Boston College TE verbal R.J. Maryland caught four passes for 35 yards. Rockwall-Heath QB and Indiana commit Josh Hoover completed 21 of 27 attempts for 344 yards and three TDs. On300 WR and Auburn commit Jay Fair caught four passes for 44 yards and a score. Baylor WR commit Jordan Nabors hauled in four receptions for 161 yards and a TD. Minnesota RB verbal Zach Evans has returned strong from a knee injury a season ago. He rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns on 30 totes. 

Klein Cain bounced back from a loss to Bridgeland last week beating Cy Creek 56-21. On300 WR and TCU commit Matthew Golden posted eight receptions for 131 yards and two TDs. Cy Creek 2024 QB Brad Jackson hit on 20 of 36 passes for 155 yards and three scores. He added 58 rushing yards on 18 attempts. 

Oklahoma commitment Xavion Brice starred in Arlington Seguin’s 68-18 thumping of Fort Worth Wyatt. The Sooners defensive back commit rushed for 148 yards and three scores on just seven attempts, and passed for 31 yards. 

Spring impressed in a 49-0 blowout victory over Klein Oak. Utah State quarterback verbal Bishop Davenport passed for 306 yards and five TD’s, and rushed for 75 yards and two scores in the win. New Mexico verbal Myron Carter caught three passes for 52 yards and a touchdown in the victory. 

SMU WR commit C.J. Nelson passed for 78 yards and three scores, and rushed for 62 yards and a TD in Richland’s 55-13 win over Fort Worth Paschal. 

Lewisville beat Timber Creek 53-24 headlined by Oregon State commitment Damien Martinez. The 5-foot-10, 215-pounder rushed for 255 yards and five TDs on 21 carries. Class of 2024 safety Jaydan Hardy caught one pass for 37 yards. Junior wide receiver Lonnie Johnson turned in a strong game in defeat. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder hauled in 11 receptions for 110 yards and a score. 

Eaton beat Mansfield Legacy 47-0 in a game featuring two talented tight end prospects. Eaton junior Jaden Platt posted three receptions for 65 yards and a TD in the win. Ole Miss verbal Kyirin Heath caught three passes for 28 yards. 

North Mesquite junior WR and SMU verbal Cordale Russell posted two receptions for 35 yards and a TD in a 42-14 loss to Plano West. Plano West 2023 RB/WR Dermot White rushed for 160 yards and three TDs on four carries, and scored on a 37 yard reception. 

McKinney Boyd beat Grand Prairie 28-21. In the loss, SMU wide receiver verbal Savion Red rushed for 71 yards and a TD, and added 73 yards passing. 

Ridge Point edged Dickinson 42-36 behind quarterback Bert Emanuel Jr. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior passes for 172 yards and two TDs, and rushed for 239 yards and three scores on 14 totes. Junior RB Ezell Jolly rushed 22 times for 133 yards and a score in the win. On300 TE and Texas A&M commit Donovan Green hauled in three passes for 65 yards and a score in the loss. 

Friday night action

Five-star receiver Evan Stewart caught 11 passes for 211 yards and a TD in Frisco Liberty’s 55-21 win over Greenville. Liberty junior quarterback Keldric Luster hit on 17 of 25 passes for 324 yards and two scores. 

On300 running back and Texas commit Jamarion Miller rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns in Tyler Legacy’s 62-55 win over rival Tyler High. Texas Tech running back verbal Bryson Donnell rushed for 52 yards, and added 58 receiving yards with two TDs. Tyler High junior receiver Montrell Wade caught nine passes for 156 yards and three scores. 

Denton Guyer beat Denton Ryan 14-7 in one of the more talent-filled games in the state. Guyer 2023 quarterback Jackson Arnold completed 17 of 31 passes for 176 yards and two TDs. On3 Top 100 junior safety Peyton Bowen caught a 31-yard touchdown. He picked off a pass last week. On300 No. 211 and Texas commit Austin Jordan caught four passes for 39 yards and a score. Junior Kalib Hicks rushed for 119 yards on 26 attempts. Speedy junior Jordyn Bailey posted five receptions for 30 yards. 

On3 Top 100 cornerback Javien Toviano rushed for 162 yards and two TD’s in Arlington Martin’s 59-15 win over Hebron. Junior Sergio Snider posted 33 yards rushing, and posted 59 receiving yards with a score in the win.

Midland Legacy beat Amarillo Tascosa 51-48. Legacy senior running back Makhilyn Young rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns in the win. On300 running back Major Everhart rushed for 80 yards, and added 92 receiving yards with two touchdowns. 

Atascocita upset Allen 41-20 on the road. Senior athlete Gavin Session passed for 300 yards and four TDs, and rushed for 117 yards and a score. Sophomore athlete Jamarri Green recorded 89 rushing yards and 18 receiving yards in the win. In the loss, sophomore Michael Hawkins connected on 16 of 29 passes for 243 yards and two TD’s. He added 73 rushing yards on 14 totes. Hawkins is the son of former Oklahoma and NFL cornerback Michael Hawkins. Allen senior receiver and Colorado verbal Jordyn Tyson caught 11 passes for 133 yards and a score. He is the younger brother of Texas freshman small forward Jaylon Tyson. 

Rockwall quarterback and Mississippi State commit Braedyn Locke turned in a big time performance in Rockwall’s 75-28 win over Dallas Jesuit. The 6-foot-2 signal caller hit on 26 of 38 passes for 413 yards and five touchdowns. Junior wide receiver Noble Johnson caught eight passes for 190 yards and two scores. Northwestern commit Robert Fitzgerald caught three passes for 80 yards and a score in the loss. Senior FBS quarterback recruit Gage Roy passed for 295 yards and two TD’s. 

Austin Westlake beat Euless Trinity 34-14 behind Clemson commit Cade Klubnik. The On300 No. 33 ranked prospect passes for 312 yards and a touchdown, and added two short scoring runs. Junior tight end prospect Jaden Greathouse caught three passes for 69 yards. In the loss, On300 running back and Oklahoma State verbal Ollie Gordon rushed for 188 yards and a score on 24 totes. 

Defending state champion Shiner defeated Blanco 41-7. On3 Top 100 junior Dalton Brooks rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns on eight totes. Senior Doug Brooks rushed for 44 yards and a score. 

Highland Park got the better of Flower Mound High 28-24. Sophomore Brennan Storer completed 13 of 29 passes for 149 yards and two TDs (with two INTs) in the win. On300 and Florida commit Nick Evers completed 27 of 49 passes for 312 yards and three scores in the loss. He added 94 rushing yards on 13 carries. 

Flower Mound Marcus defeated McKinney 28-21. Marcus senior QB Jaxxon Warren hit on 12 of 20 passes for 262 yards and three scores. Sophomore QB Cole Welliver completed four of nine attempts for 43 yards and an INT. On3 Top 100 WR junior Ashton Cozart caught a 26-yard touchdown. Senior WR Dallas Dudley caught seven passes for 170 yards and a score. Dudley is the son of former Henderson, Ohio State and NFL tight end Ricky Dudley. McKinney 2024 RB Bryan Jackson ran for 56 yards on 16 totes in the loss. Sophomore Xavier Filsaime caught three passes for 16 yards. 

Manor beat Bastrop 29-7. Pittsburgh commit Che Nwabuko caught eight passes for 167 yards and a touchdown. Junior running back Quinten Joyner rushed for 234 yards and two scores. 

Langham Creek dropped another tough one, this time to Jersey Village 31-28. On3 Top 100 receiver Jaquaize Pettaway caught 10 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. 

Sachse beat Red Oak 64-42 behind On300 athlete Alex Orji. The Virginia Tech verbal passed for 270 yards and three TDs, and rushed for 161 yards and three scores. Baylor tight end commit Kelsey Johnson hauled in four passes for 95 yards and two scores in the loss. 

Lake Travis beat Converse Judson 52-20. Junior signal caller Bo Edmundson hit on 15 of 28 passes for 118 yards and a TD in the victory. Converse Judson junior speedster Anthony Evans scored on a 67-yard fumble return. 

Longview shut out Marshall 14-0. On3 Top 100 junior wide receiver Jalen Hale caught three passes for 33 yards. Lobos sophomore Taylor Tatum rushed for 110 yards on 19 attempts. 

DeSoto bounced back from an embarrassing effort against Converse Judson with a 45-21 win over Arlington Bowie. On3 Top 100 junior receiver Johntay Cook caught a 24-yard touchdown. Oregon commit Stephon Johnson posted four catches for 46 yards and a TD. 

Baylor tight end commit Cody Mladenka hauled in a 20-yard touchdown in College Park’s 24-14 win over Bryan. Bryan EDGE prospect and Purdue verbal Nic Caraway rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown. 

Killeen Harker Heights pounded Georgetown East View 62-7. Fast rising junior running back Re’Shaun Sanford rushed for 134 yards and two TDs, and took a kickoff 90 yards to the house. Louisiana commit Terrance Carter caught two passes for 30 yards and a score. 

Junior quarterback Jake Strong completed 14 of 19 passes for 180 yards and two TDs in Justin Northwest’s 28-16 win over McKinney North. 

Lovejoy took Sulphur Springs behind the woodshed for a 71-7 beating. Junior athlete Jaxson Lavender hauled in seven passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore wide receiver Parker Livingstone caught three passes, all touchdowns. 

North Crowley took down The Colony 40-21. North Crowley 2023 running back DeJuan Lacey rushed for 215 yards and a TD on 26 totes. He added a 78-yard touchdown reception. 

Westfield beat Hightower 38-12. Westfield quarterback and Tulsa verbal Cardell Williams passed for 197 yards, and rushed for 21 yards and a score. In the loss, USC commit Caleb Douglas caught three passes for 81 yards. 

Katy Tompkins beat Clear Springs 53-43. Clear Springs receiver and Texas A&M commit Noah Thomas posted three receptions for 44 yards and two TD’s. 

Utah commit Zion Steptoe hauled in six passes for 72 yards and two scores in Frisco Memorial’s 58-35 win over Melissa.
