Teams don’t often face Power Conference opponents to start the year, but Terry is excited to see how his team responds to a Big 10 team to begin the season.

“Get challenged right off the bat,” Terry said Wednesday. “Well-coached team. Jake’s done a great job with his program there. He’s got some great returners in (Bruce) Thornton back. Thornton’s one of the best guards in the country. I think you want to find out early what you are. We played two Big 12 teams to this point right now (in scrimmages), so we jump right in there in terms of playing well-coached teams and teams with older players, which we will play on Monday night.”

The game will tip a 9 p.m. Central and air on TruTV, TNT, and stream on MAX.

“I think it’ll be great for us,” Terry said. “It’s great exposure. We’re playing in a primetime slot, so there will be a lot of eyeballs around the country on Texas basketball,” Terry said.
