After spending nearly 15 seasons in college football, five with the University of Texas, I’m fired up to be joining the Inside Texas family and share my insight and experiences with loyal IT subscribers. When the idea of working on the media side of football came to mind, I wanted to be a part of a proven winner and innovative team, so I’m thankful to Eric Nahlin for this awesome opportunity. I’m ready to get rockin’ and rollin’.

For those who aren’t familiar with me, I am originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, grew up in Euless, Texas, and have lived in the Austin area for nearly 20 years.

As a non-traditional student (late 20’s, married with a kid, mortgage), I essentially double majored at Texas State University as I worked with the Bobcat football program in a variety of roles (Student Assistant Coach with OL, Academic Mentor, Instant Replay Tech) from 2008-2012 while earning a degree in Exercise & Sports Science. After a brief hiatus, I rejoined the program as a Recruiting Assistant from 2014-2016 under Dennis Franchione and Everett Withers.

In 2017, I was hired in the same role at the University of Texas and was immediately tasked with assisting Derek Warehime in recruiting Junior Angilau. I was promoted to Player Personnel Analyst in 2019, the first in the program’s history, and remained in that role until August of 2022.

Notable Longhorns that I was fortunate enough to be a part of their recruiting process whether it was evaluating, recruiting, or hosting are: Moro Ojomo, Cameron Dicker, T’Vondre Sweat, Vernon Broughton, Alfred Collins, Jake Majors, Jaylan Ford, Liona Lefau, and Tausili Akana. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to know and love those young men and their families.

I’ve been married nearly 20 years to my wife Stephanie, we have a 17-year old daughter named Lusia who is a junior at Hays High School and is committed to play D-1 volleyball at Utah Tech University. Our 10-year old son, Cannon, is on the Autism Spectrum and has an ultra rare genetic disease called KAT6A Syndrome. He is the light of our lives.

I’m excited to learn from my colleagues here at Inside Texas and connect with Longhorn fans.
