The 6-foot-2, 190-pound smooth moving receiver selected Texas over Houston, Arkansas, Colorado, Baylor and Purdue.

Wilson committed following a June 24th weekend official visit to Texas. It was the lone official visit the Houston area prospect made in June.

The Longhorns offered Wilson January 25 after Steve Sarkisian and wide receivers coach Brennan Marion watched a Dekaney basketball game. Marion began showing interest while on staff at Pittsburgh, including an offer in March of 2021.

Texas No. 8 ranked class headed into the top 5

The Longhorns vaulted to the No. 8 ranked class in the On3 Consensus team ranking Thursday with the commitment of No. 1 overall prospect Arch Manning. Texas sported nine commitments prior to Wilson’s announcement. Along with On3 Consensus five-star Manning, Texas class features six more consensus four-star prospects with the Saturday addition of Liona Lefau.

With Manning in the fold, a second straight top five class looks like a slam dunk. The Texas weekend official visitor list included 10 four-star prospects.

Texas is also in the mix for a number of other On3 Consensus 4-star wide receivers. That list includes Johntay Cook II, Jaden Greathouse, Jaquaize Pettaway, Mikal Harrison-Pilot and Jalen Hale.

The No. 234 prospect in the 2023 On300, Wilson is the No. 34 wide receiver in the nation and No. 40 overall prospect in Texas according to the On3 Consensus rankings. He has an NIL value of $15.8K.
