Inside Texas catches up with a trio of Texas targets from the 2022 and 2023 classes including Jack Curtis, Dylan Brown-Turner, and Cory Huff. Enjoy the evening news.

WDE/TE Jack Curtis, Highland Park (Dallas, TX) – 2022:

Whether it’s defensive end or tight end, Curtis makes his presence felt on the field, including helping Highland Park beat Rockwall on Friday night.

The 6-foot-3, 228-pound Scot is rising up the recruiting ranks after being named 7-5A first team all-district in 2020 and took an unofficial trip to Austin over the weekend.

“It was pretty awesome,” said Curtis. “Great to see the players up close and be on the field for a little while.”

Curtis holds 12 offers including Arizona, Hawaii, San Diego State, and North Texas. He visited Texas A&M over the summer, and holds Ivy League offers as well. But Texas might be the school that has his attention.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Texas and would love the opportunity to play there,” said Curtis. “I saw (former teammate) Prince (Dorbah) get in a couple drives yesterday and he looked good.”

Curtis is more of a wait-and-see type prospect and Texas is watching.

LB Dylan Brown-Turner, South Oak Cliff (Dallas, TX) – 2023:

At 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, the linebacker/safety is one of the hardest workers and hitters in the South Oak Cliff program. He was in attendance for the Texas-Rice game and can’t wait to return.

“The game was great and Texas absolutely dominated,” said Brown-Turner. “I loved it being my second time coming to Texas. You assume you already know what to expect but it just gets better and better each time.”

He holds three offers from Georgia Tech, Kansas, and Utah State. Brown-Turner camped at UT over the summer and sees so much potential in this current regime.

“Everything was great from the food, the facility, and the on-field experience,” said Brown-Turner. “I also got a chance to meet some coaches I didn’t get a chance to meet my first time coming so that was cool building a relationship with them. The first time I went I know (Texas) was telling me I would fit in at the STAR position but they also said it’s very early to predict because they don’t know how my body will fill out just yet. And my versatility came up in that conversation.”

He has a few other trips in the works.

“I plan on going to Norte Dame, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and Missouri,” Brown-Turner said. “I’m still open to attending more games.”

CB Cory Huff Jr., Nimitz (Aldine, TX) – 2023:

The 6-foot, 180-pound corner is beginning to pop up on recruiting lists across the country. He’s headed to Austin on Saturday for UT’s Big 12 opener versus Texas Tech.

“I can’t wait,” said Huff. “Definitely can see myself in Austin in the years ahead.”

It’s early, but the physical and rangy defensive back with salty instincts is hearing from a handful of schools heading into his junior season.

“Syracuse, Iowa State, and Utah,” Huff said. “But the University of Texas has been a dream since I learned to walk.”

Huff has a good idea of what he’s looking for at the next level.

“I’m looking for, not just a school with a great athletic program, but a school close to home that could help me start a life.”

Huff joins an absolutely loaded defensive back class in-state for 2023. UT is lurking too.
