Kickoff time, television partner announced for Texas vs. Kansas

The Big 12 announced Monday that the Sept. 30 matchup between the Texas Longhorns and Kansas Jayhawks in Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium will kick off at 2:30 p.m. Central and air on ABC.

Last season, the Longhorns defeated the Jayhawks in Lawrence, Kan., 55-14. Bijan Robinson rushed 25 times for 243 yards and four touchdowns. Jonathon Brooks added 11 carries for 111 yards and two scores. Texas rushed 57 times for 427 yards and six scores. Quinn Ewers was 12-of-21 for 107 yards with a touchdown pass to Keilan Robinson.

Texas is 17-4 all time versus the Jayhawks. During the last meeting in Austin, Kansas upset the Longhorns 57-56, one of the Longhorns’ seven losses during the 2021 campaign.

Kickoff times and television partners were announced for other conference matchups. The Friday, Sept. 29 matchup between the Cincinnati Bearcats and the BYU Cougars will kick off at 9:15 p.m. Central and air on ESPN.

The Baylor Bears’ matchup in Orlando, Fla. versus the Central Florida Knights will begin at 2:30 p.m. It will either air on FS1 or FS2.

Dana Holgorsen and the Houston Cougars travel to Lubbock, Texas to battle the Texas Tech Red Raiders. That game will also kick off a 2:30 p.m. and air on one of FS1 or FS2.

Iowa State heads to Norman, Okla. to battle the Oklahoma Sooners. The contest between the Cyclones and the Sooners kicks off at 6 p.m. and will air on FS1.

Finally, West Virginia heads to Fort Worth, Texas to face the TCU Horned Frogs in Amon G. Carter Stadium. ESPN2 will televise the affair, and it will kick off at 7 p.m. Central.
