The Pelican State product has four official visits scheduled for June.

McKinley hits Columbus first with Ohio State on June 2-4. His next stops include Oklahoma on June 9-11, Texas A&M on June 16-18, and Texas on June 23-25. Alabama, missed the cut, but remains in the hunt for an official visit. LSU and Georgia are looking at in-season official trips for the budding defensive prospect.

He took an unofficial to Austin in late January and came away impressed with the future SEC program.

“I think Texas is really good,” McKinley told Inside Texas. “They have a great coaching staff there. I talk to Coach Bo (Davis). He’s a great guy. Very energetic. He has a good personality. He tells me to come play for him and put in the work, and have the best chance to get to the NFL.”

McKinley has seen fellow Louisiana natives Arch Manning and Derek Williams join the Forty Acres from the 2023 class and others have signed with Texas out of his home state. It can only help bridge the gap when LSU starts bringing the recruiting pressure.

McKinley played both tackle and defensive end during the 2022 season, landing a Class 5A all-state honorable mention after his junior campaign. He tallied 86 tackles, 10 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and a touchdown against some of the state’s top competition from Da Boot.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, McKinley ranks as the No. 20 overall prospect, No. 5 defensive lineman and No. 1 player in Louisiana. LSU leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with 82.5%.
