It truly is a privilege to cover the Texas baseball program. Thanks to Bill Frisbie almost 10 years ago, I received the chance to cover the 2013 Longhorns and ever since then I've made my way to the Disch on Tuesdays and weekends throughout the spring. Covering Texas and seeing four Omaha teams reminds you of the level of dedication, consistency, and effort it takes to reach the College World Series. As @BobInHouston often says, it's an achievement to be in the final eight. After all, there are only eight of them. Once again, the 2022 Longhorns were among the final eight. Historic offense and tremendous fielding buoyed an inconsistent pitching staff all the way to Omaha, led by the achievements of 2022 Dick Howser Trophy winner and first-team All-American Ivan Melendez.
