Niblett joined Desoto (Texas) running back Tre Wisner with a post-Orange White scrimmage pledge that Saturday night.

The spring game, the energy out there was crazy,” said Niblett. “It was really loud and energetic. The fans, that hype, the culture out there, me and Tre were actually talking right before we committed. We actually met Bijan (Robinson) that day. I just felt like that it was good for me to experience because it was my first time ever experiencing it. I just loved it ever since.”

After offers from Alabama, Oregon, LSU, TCU, and Houston, including a late official trip to see the Cougars, Niblett stayed with his UT commitment. Ultimately, why the Longhorns?

“I’m looking forward to going straight to work,” Niblett told Inside Texas. “Going straight to the field, getting my schoolwork done. I’m just getting ready to do what I got to do when I get there.”

He’ll major in kinesiology with a minor in communications.
