Folsom (Ca.) 2023 wide receiver Rico Flores released a top five schools list consisting of Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame, UCLA, and Georgia on Tuesday evening. The No. 100 overall player in the 2023 On300 was selected to play in the 2023 All-American Bowl in San Antonio and is one of the Longhorns’ top targets at wideout.

During the 2021 season Flores racked up 1,157 receiving yards on 81 catches for 12 touchdowns for the Folsom Bulldogs in an 11-4 CIF State Division I-AA runner-up season.

When Flores spoke to On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons after cutting his list earlier this year he had this to say about how distance from home would factor in his recruitment.

“The visits will be important to me because I will go anywhere in the country. The location doesn’t mean anything to me. My mom is OK with me going anywhere. She just wants me to go where I feel is best for me.”

Flores also mentioned that Texas was among the schools that spoke to him on a daily basis.

“Schools like Notre Dame, USC, Texas, and UCLA are on my almost every day. The others stay in regular contact too, so that is big because I am getting to know them better.”

At 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, Rico Flores is the No. 163 ranked recruit in the country in the class of 2023, according to the On3 consensus a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 28 wide receiver in the country and the No. 10 recruit from the state of California.

Flores has an On3 NIL Valuation of $13,000. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
