Texas vs. Ohio State to air on Fox, most likely to be part of Big Noon Kickoff

Fox Sports announced Monday that Texas’ trip to Columbus, Ohio to face the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes will air on Fox on Saturday, August 30. While the network did not announce a kickoff time, it’s almost certain the game will kick off at 11 a.m. Central as part of Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff presentation.

Inside Texas reported in March that an 11 a.m. kick was most likely. Fox places its top matchup of the week in the early timeslot in order to draw the most viewers, and the network wasn’t about to let the chance to air the top non-conference matchup of the 2025 season go by without giving it the Big Noon treatment.
The Longhorns played three 11 a.m. Central games in 2024, including a matchup with Michigan in week two that was also on Fox with a noon Eastern start. The other two were versus Florida and at Arkansas. Last year, Fox put Alabama’s trip to Wisconsin on Big Noon Saturday, as well as Penn State’s visit to Morgantown, W. Va. for their battle with West Virginia (the Big 12 is also a Fox partner).
Fans can expect more kickoff times to roll in as the offseason rolls on. Last week, Texas’ rivalry game with Texas A&M, the first in Austin since 2010, received a 6:30 p.m. kickoff time on Friday, November 28.

No other kickoff times have yet been announced for the 2025 season.
Texas kicks off Steve Sarkisian‘s fifth season leading the Longhorns at Ohio State, traveling to Ohio Stadium for the first time since 2005 when Vince Young and the No. 2 Longhorns defeated the Buckeyes at night by a score of 25-22. The win jump-started Texas’ national championship campaign that culminated in the Rose Bowl with Young’s run to the corner.
The Longhorns will face Ohio State for a second consecutive game. Texas saw its 2024 campaign end in the 2025 Cotton Bowl when the Buckeyes topped the Longhorns 28-14. Ohio State then defeated Notre Dame for the national title, its first since 2014.
