Texas quarterback commitment Trey Owens competed at the Elite 11 Regional in Austin on Sunday, one day after taking in the Texas spring game.

The 6-foot-4.5, 210-pounder spent much of Saturday night helping in the recruiting efforts of top running back target Jerrick Gibson prior to competing on Sunday.
Owens was the lone in-state quarterback Steve Sarkisian and A.J. Milwee targeted in the 2024 class prior to Owens committing January 11, 2023.

Owens was one of the most improved and productive quarterbacks in the Lone Star State in 2022. The Cy-Fair High signal caller went from starting three games as a sophomore and throwing for 478 yards with five touchdowns to over 3,000 yards and 34 TDs as a junior.
