What Texas players said following the Longhorns' 30-15 loss to Georgia
In front of a record crowd at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, the No. 1 Longhorns ran into a pack of rabid dogs in the first half of tonight’s 30-15 loss to No. 5 Georgia. The Horns bit back in the second half with two scores and stout defense, but ultimately the Bulldog defensive front was the difference. Here’s what the players said after the loss.

Quinn Ewers, QB
On his overall view of the loss:
“We didn’t start out obviously like we wanted to, and playing catch up is tough for an offense. But I think we stayed poised and composed throughout the entire game. There were moments where people probably thought Georgia was going to start pulling away. But I feel like we always had that next score or our defensive got a stop, which is cool to see, but we definitely did not play our game today.”
On if he felt like he needed to be pulled in the second quarter:
“It seems like I did. I mean I came out in the second half and put together a couple good drives, but it’s definitely a weird position to be in for sure.”
On describing the Georgia’s front seven and getting pressured all night:
“I mean they have a good D-line. It’s tough when we get down like that and they know we are going to try to throw the ball. They get in straight pass-rush mode on the edges. We just have to figure out ways to start better and that begins with me.”

On his overall view of the loss:

On if he thought it was a penalty in the moment:
“No. I mean, I know it wasn’t (a penalty). I asked the ref. (Arian Smith) was kind of pushing me but yeah, I didn’t think it was at all.”
