Arch Manning, QB

“I think it was a really great call by Coach [Steve Sarkisian]. Mix in a little quarterback run inside zone, a slider. just wanted to make sure that I protected the ball. (On how his 35-yard touchdown played out)

“This team just never loses the fight. Shows up every week, no matter what the media says about them. If we didn’t play well the week before, we just keep fighting and keep continuing to get better. It’s fun to be a part of.” (On the team’s resilience against such a tough schedule)

“I’m so glad. He was a football player and his career got cut short, so wins like this, where he’s in the locker room after the game, really makes me appreciate it more.” (On his dad’s advice to ‘keep chopping wood’)

Trevor Goosby, OT

“It’s awesome. Just everything that this rivalry means, it’s awesome for me to just be a big part of it, and I’m blessed for it. I’m just blessed.” (On playing a big role in this game against Texas A&M for two-straight years)

“We were really just enamored with us and just doing what we needed to, worrying about us and what we can control. So that was the biggest thing.” (On sentiment of team focusing on themselves)

Liona Lefau, LB

“We knew coming into the game how much of a factor [Marcel Reed] was going to be and how important it was to try and take away his running ability. Because when he gets going and can run the ball well, it’s really hard on the defense to stop him. We really honed in on that and I felt like we did a pretty good job of containing him. Obviously, he had a couple big plays, but you can’t limit all of them. He’s going to get his plays, he’s a good player.” (On the defensive approach to limit Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed)

“We’re relentless. Obviously, we dropped some games, and we wish we could have those back. We feel like we’re a great team at the end of the day. We play for each other, we play hard, we play fast. We’ve been through a lot as a team, and we continue to fight back and come back stronger.” (On why Texas deserves to be in the College Football Playoff)

Michael Taaffe, S

“We were in great coverage to take away the verticals. We knew that we wanted them to march down the field and earn every single yard. We were just taking away the verticals. I knew he was trying to take the one-on-one shot, so I took that away early and then fell back and tried to break on that little over route and he threw it and I trusted it. I just went and made a play. I couldn’t have written the story better for myself, so it was a special moment.” (On his interception and what he was feeling during that play)

“Oh, man. It’s just so special. You’re one of those kids out there that’s asking for autographs when you grow up. Nobody believes in you all your life, except yourself. And then you go from walking-on to living out your dream in the last game that you get an interception in is against your rival, at home, last game at DKR. It just feels so good. All my teammates were really proud, so it was super cool. And you know, hard times make this moment much more sweet.” (On what kind of highlight tonight was in his career)
