The former five-star from Fresno (Calif.) Central East snagged seven passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns in UT’s 38-20 win over West Virginia last Saturday.

Worthy also threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Ja’Tavion Sanders and, as well as serving as the punt returner for the Horns.

Texas signal-caller Hudson Card lined up in shotgun, throwing a lateral pass to wide receiver Xavier Worthy. That was important, as tight end Sanders was running down the field. Worthy tossed a perfect pass, hitting Sanders in stride.

Sanders got into the end zone untouched, giving the Longhorns a two-touchdown lead. Worthy was also able to grab his second score of the day, with one being on the receiving end. Now, he has a passing touchdown added to his already impressive resume. You can watch the full play here.

As for Worthy, nobody was higher on him in the industry than On3. The wide receiver was No. 18 in the 2021 On300 and No. 2 in the country at his position. Special talents making plays in Austin.

The Louisville Sports Commission successfully launched the Paul Hornung Award in 2010 to honor its namesake and native son, and to promote outstanding performances by versatile college football players who often go unnoticed. Each week during the regular season, a panel of college football experts selects players for the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll based on performance. A national selection committee comprised of 17 sports journalists and former NFL stars votes for the Hornung Award finalists and the winner, with fan voting powered by Texas Roadhouse comprising the 18th vote.

Fan voting for the 2022 Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse is now open. Fans can vote once every 24 hours here.
