Inside the Trojans' Huddle: Three major questions, NCAA drama
Inside the Trojans Huddle returns for another episode in June. WeAreSC.com senior writer Chris Trevino serves as the host for panelists Marc Kulkin and Scott Schrader for this week’s episode.
The show’s opens with three major questions surrounding USC football for the success of the 2026 season. Those questions center around QB Jayden Maiava, overall roster depth and performing on the road.
The Recruiting Guy Schrader then takes the time on the Trojan Huddle to break down the various events going on at USC this weekend from official visitors to camp sessions.
The show then dips into the biggest story in college football: Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. Sorsby was granted a temporary injunction against the NCAA on Monday in Lubbock County Court, which allows him to play in the 2026 college football season despite gambling on college football.
“This court finds that applicant has demonstrated that he will suffer a probable, imminent, and irreparable injury if this court does not issue this temporary injunction because he will be unable to participate as a member of Texas Tech University’s 2026 football team,” the injunction states.
The panel dives into the situation and what it could mean for a potential game with the Red Raiders.
USC Baseball
The Trojan Huddle tips their metaphorical caps to USC baseball, which had its season come to a brutal end on Sunday in a 4-3 walk off loss to No. 5 seed North Carolina. The Trojans led 3-1 for most of the game and were three outs away from the College World Series.
USC baseball finishes the year at 48-18, the program’s first season 40-win season since 2005. USC also won its first regional title and returned to the Supers for the first time in 21 years as well.
