Included in the conversation is the subsequent announcement that Fegans’ younger brother, class of 2025 safety Anquan Fegans, who also made a Trojans’ commitment. What is the impact of these two brothers leaving football rabid Alabama, and will it have a ripple effect inside SEC country?

The first half of the Huddle then takes a scrutinized look at the opening betting lines for five of the Trojans’ most critical games in 2023: Notre Dame, Utah, Washington, Oregon, and UCLA. Two of those games have the Trojans listed as underdogs. Care to guess which ones? Completing the discussion, another betting service has come out with overall win totals for all the Pac-12 teams. The two highest win totals are 9.5. Care to guess the two teams at the top?

Halftime takes us to five questions, and all of them are under the category of “potential.” Among the questions included are the potential effects of prep basketball star Bronny James, son of LeBron James, committing to USC, and how it affects football recruiting and the potential of the 2024 recruiting class, Deion Sanders and his potential effect on USC recruiting, best potential secondary market for tickets, and the potential future of Big Ten divisions that will include USC and UCLA. If there are divisions, will both the Trojans and Bruins be in the same division?

The second half of the Huddle views a revised preseason Top 25 ranking by ESPN and whether the new Trojans high ranking is justified. Let’s put it this way, the Men of Troy have made an impressive jump with the ESPN Top 10.

Conversation then turns to the question of after Caleb Williams, who will be the Trojans’ most valuable player in 2023? Following that topic, the panel gives suggestion how USC fans can make it through the next four-plus months until the opening 2023 kickoff on Aug. 23. The panel has some ideas and is in total agreement how to make it through until training camp opens in late July.

In Overtime, panelists answer some viewers’ questions, which include the Trojans questionable 2023 special teams; adjusting to a potential 17-game season with playoff expansion in 2024; prep basketball star Bronny James; former Houston O-lineman Cam’Ron Johnson; the Pac-12’s unresolved TV contract; and the seemingly overabundance of defensive backs.
