Ruben Report: Trojans Build Big Lead, Hang on to Beat BYU

The USC Trojans beat the BYU Cougars 82-76 and played their best game of the season against the best opponent they have played so far before a small crowd in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis. They also played their best 15 minutes so far to begin the second half, increasing a 1-point halftime lead to 18 with less than 5 minutes to play. Boogie Ellis was tremendous in the second half, scoring 21 of his game-high 27 points after intermission. Josh Morgan, Reese Dixon-Waters and Drew Peterson also had big second half. The Trojans scored 51 points after the break.
