The Huddle: Fresno State vs USC

The No. 7 USC Trojans (2-0, 1-0)are back home in the Coliseum on Saturday night for an in-state matchup against the Fresno State Bulldogs (1-1). The Huddle is a quick one-sheet with all the names, news, notes and numbers you need to watch your Trojans take on the Bulldogs this Saturday.

The Bulldogs have taken the Trojans to the wire the last two times they’ve visited the Coliseum. Back in 2005, it took an incredible effort from running back Reggie Bush to deliver a win for USC. Bush set a Pac-10 record with 513 total yards, including 294 rushing yards. In 2019, USC safety Isaiah Pola-Mao intercepted a pass in the endzone with time winding down and the Trojans holding an 8-point lead.

USC is 4-1 all-time against Fresno State, but Bulldog fans will travel well to Los Angeles this weekend and the Trojans will be in for a fight. Here’s how to watch or listen to this edition of USC – Fresno State.

The USC defense will be tested by Fresno State. It’s a group that is hoping to keep up its impressive streak of forcing four turnovers in each game this season. Head coach Lincoln Riley talked this week about what the coaches saw on that side of the ball against Stanford.

There were some injury issues early this week. Riley updated the status of left tackle Courtland Ford and rush end Romello Height, who both left the Stanford game due to injuries. Riley and USC typically won’t provide specific injury updates on players heading into games.
