USC’s Tre White was named the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week for his performances in two Trojan wins against Washington State and Washington.

White scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting in USC’s 80-70 win over Washington State on Thursday evening. He then scored a career-high 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting in an 80-74 win against Washington on Saturday. White added eight rebounds and four assists against the Huskies.

He ranks second among Pac-12 freshmen this season in scoring (10.0 ppg), rebounding (5.0 rpg) and field goal percentage (50.5%).

It’s the second time this season White has been named the conference Freshman of the Week. He joins the UCLA duo of Amari Bailey and Adem Bona as freshmen to win those honors twice this week. Oregon State’s Jordan Pope is the only conference player to win it three times this year.

Arizona’s Ąžuolas Tubelis was named Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. USC’s Boogie Ellis was nominated and was looking to win it in back-to-back weeks. He scored 37 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out nine assists against the Washington schools. But nobody in the conference was going to be able to compete against the 40-point, nine-rebound, three-assist, three-steal performance Tubelis posted against Oregon.

USC’s Remaining 2023 Schedule

USC is on a four-game winning streak heading into the Trojans’ final eight games of the regular season. A road trip to the Oregon schools is up next. USC will take on the Ducks this Thursday in an 8:00 tip that will be shown on ESPN2.

Oregon is just 14-10 this season but ranked No. 54 in the NET and would still represent a Quad 1 win for the Trojans due to it being an away game.

USC is pretty firmly in the NCAA Tournament field at this point, but posting a few more solid wins still seems necessary for the Trojans. USC is a No. 10 seed in the latest ESPN bracketology and a No. 8 seed according to CBS.
